Personally, I think that the bigger problem you had was the fact that he downloaded tinder, and made a promise that he then broke.

The bigger problem is the fact that he downloaded tinder. He may claim that he never used it, but he still downloaded it, which to me, suggests that he had a desire to seek out others, and potentially to cheat. That’s the bigger red flag.
At the end of the day, if you can’t trust him any more, than your relationship is realistically dead.
