It sounds as though the 50/50 question may be a little irrelevant. If she thinks a guy should be paying for food and necessities I would imagine there is little to no chance that on a similar gross salary that nets lower when her loans are paid that she will be planning to pony up 50% of your living expenses.
My advice would normally be to focus on a fair division of the net amount, I don’t know what her loan payments would be but if significant and her disposable is still much lower than yours that needs a discussion. The problem is that advice is intended for a partnership where each person wants to pull their weight, pay fairly and not take advantage, I’m concerned about that based on your post.
