Ugh, OP, this is a HUGE red flag for control and abuse. Of course you're right and most people have celebrity crushes. And the language you used was normal and pretty much universally understandable in our culture.
But take note of how confused and discombobulated you are right now. Take note of how you weren't sure if you did anything wrong or not and had to come ask total strangers if you did. THIS WAS THE POINT OF THE EXERCISE. To throw you off balance; to make you question yourself. If he can get you to question yourself and feel like you have to turn to him for validation, you're halfway groomed for abuse.
You've only been together three months: dump him and move on. It's not worth your time to go through more of his crazy only to discover that, yes, he was trying to control you the whole time.
