I divorced wife #1 (was married to her from age 21 to 24) because she was financially irresponsible and un-willing to seek out any type of career. I tried to put her through college and she failed all her classes (cost me about $10K). I paid for her to attend two different trade schools, and she failed out of those too (another $5K). I earned $80K while serving in Iraq for 16 months, and came home to $400 dollars and credit card debt. Had I gotten my legs blown off or if something bad happened to me while I was deployed, there’s no way she’d have been able to support us. She’s been a stay at home mom since our divorced and her re-marrying.
Finances and future are very important in relationships. I totally get your frustrations….I wasn’t ready to gamble my future on being married to a liability.
Bake him a cake.

I hope this a troll post ‘cause a big part of your problem is in just that first sentence.
Oh my gosh I’m so sorry this happened to you
