  1. Thank you! I’ll talk to my boyfriend about confronting him. It might make things awkward but hopefully the friend doesn’t hate me

  2. Also, introduce her to audiobooks and podcasts. Some may not really enjoy reading for whatever reason, but they'll eagerly consume the same content in audiobook or podcast format.

You may also want to start in slow with reading, if you want to introduce her. Do NOT and I repeat do NOT start her with LOTR and such. If she thinks reading is boring then something detail intensive like that will be too much too soon. Even Hobbit may be too much in the deep end. I don't mean any of that to sound like she's unable to understand it or that the books are boring, just that they're not something I would give to a reluctant reader at any age as their first novels (in a while, anyway).

I would check to see what her likes and dislikes are, then go from there. If she likes romance and doesn't mind fantasy being mixed in, she may like authors like Molly Harper – her books are kind of like cupcakes in that they're light, fluffy, and easy to get down. There is nothing really difficult in them and they're a great bit of escapism. If she likes mystery or true crime, go for cozy mysteries. Some of them can actually get a bit gruesome, if you know which ones to look for.

However before any of this, I would start her on podcasts and audiobooks. Go on a car ride together and play one. Honestly, true crime seems to be so widely loved by women that I'd suggest going for one of those, like Serial. You may even want to just google “easy to get into true crime podcasts” – I found some I'd never heard of, like 90s True Crime and Wine & Crime. TBH, I would somewhat go for the ones that have kind of an Ann Rule vibe, since her stuff tends to be where a lot of us started out.

  3. Get lids and clamps for your tanks, please! You can't always guarantee that your cat will never slip by you or a guest even if you try your best to keep her out. Don't take chances when it comes to your animals' safety. Your cat will absolutely try to kill your prey species because she's a cat. No ifs about it.

I'm a little worried that your cat pees and poops where she shouldn't. She doesn't do that because she's a “bad cat.” She does that because something's wrong. There are a LOT of things that could be the cause, but instead of listing them all, I suggest looking up “litter box avoidance.”

Ok, now as for human relationship advice, if you want to break up, of course you can. Especially if this is a pattern of her not listening and taking your concerns seriously. If this is the first time though, it might be worth having a calm, sit down, mature conversation.

  4. Marry someone who loves you as much as you love them and who doesn't play emotional games with their coworkers.

Marrying him would be a mistake and will cost you dearly in the future. Better to hurt a little now but learn from this failed relationship than it is to stick your head in the sand only to suffer far more in the future when you finally catch him screwing her (or someone else).

  5. I will say, as a woman, if you want kids, there is absolutely a ticking clock. Pregnancy is risky at any stage, and people need to plan these things ahead. Especially if you want to juggle a relationship, motherhood and a professional career.

That said, you both need to sit down and discuss what both your timelines look like, because then she can decide if spending time with you will get her what she wants.

There is nothing wrong with either of you wanting different things, but you need to make sure to have these conversations early, especially since you don't want to live together nor have kids in the next year or two

  6. Her feelings don't matter at this point. She had zero respect for you. Block her and move along

    She probably met someone.
