This sounds a bit like an OCD episode to me. Intrusive thoughts reached a head and she couldn’t hold back. Of course it’s irrational, but she might not recognize that.
You need to talk to her. Approach it from a place of curiosity. Has she been thinking about these things for a while? What are those thoughts like and what triggers them? Is there anything else she wants to tell you? Has she ever had intense thoughts like this about anything else? You can’t be her therapist, but you can start to get a handle on what’s underlying this and make decisions for yourself about how you want to respond based on a better understanding of what happened. Taking a day or two to think is something you should give her. If after that she’s not able to articulate herself or doesn’t want to talk about it, I’d tell her that talking through this is something you really need to restore trust.
