If there's anything I learned, it's that there are people that will act in the best interest of others, and there are people that will act in the best interest of themselves. You have to do what's right for you. Not everybody can, or cares, to empathize with another's position. If it's in direct conflict with their familiarity, they will see the best solution that better fits the needs of many, rather than focus on your personal grievances – and I think that's where we're at, here.
I don't know the dynamic of your group, but they either don't see it the same way you do, or there is something of benefit to have him around for whatever reason that – in their mind – outweighs whatever beef you have with him. Either way, do what's right for yourself. I know, personally speaking, I'd have to back away too if a friend decided to sleep with my ex. That's the unspoken law of friend code: you don't sleep with your friends ex, or pursue them.
