I, 25 almost 26F, have just learned that my, 23M, boyfriend does something I have never heard of anyone else doing. And it involves his dog.
A quick insight into our relationship. We have been together for around 4 years. I'm introverted with extroverted moments, he's extroverted. We are both goofy, me more so than him, and do things the other person finds silly/goofy. Because of this, we are very open with each other and tell each other anything and everything. No matter what it's about.
Now the issue. I was on the phone with my boyfriend, just a regular phone call. He was taking his dog outside to use the bathroom. They have a large property, high fences, private. Nobody can see up by the house, where all of this takes place, as they have a long driveway. Somehow, we ended up talking about him taking the dog out to use the bathroom. I don't remember why this came up, or how, but my boyfriend told me that to get his dog to go to the bathroom, he goes to the bathroom with his dog.
As in, he is outside with his dog, peeing in the yard. With his dog. His dog doesn't pee unless he does. And the dog pees where he did. Apparently, this also gets the dog to poop.
I don't know why he started doing this, how long he has been doing this. He lives with his parents, and his dad does it to get the dog to pee. His grandpa, who lives out of state, does it to get his own dog to pee. He even told his friend about it, and his friend now does it to get his dog to pee. So this is a common occurrence for him and the people in his life.
I understand if you gotta go you gotta go, and doing that when you don't have access to a bathroom. Especially as a guy. I've never known anyone to do it to get their dog to go.
I also have dogs and online with my parents. We just take our dogs outside and make them stay out until they go. We stay out there with them as they are older dogs, and make sure they go before letting them inside. Nobody in my house doe this. I don't know anyone else that does this.
My boyfriend told me I should post the story here. So please, can anyone give me advice on if this is a common practice for pet owners? Is this something other boyfriends do? Is it just my boyfriend and his family?
Your brother seemed to realize that this wasn't normal for him to share a bed with you, that's why he said the couch was fine, especially after a relationship ending, that's when we need intimacy, maybe this is something women don't have idk.
There's like a subtle discomfort I would have if this happened to me, it's not rational because I really don't have a lot of reservations otherwise, I think as men we think in terms of ownership still and having an other man sleep in our bed next to our wife is deeply unsettling, I'm trying to think of a female equivalent, hmm. Maybe when your child likes hanging out with someone elses mom more. Or when your boss pays attention to someone who got there later than you did. There's no clear rule or moral offense in those situations but you feel like you're being disrespected.
Hope that makes sense, depending on how mad he got it's your decision, that's all on him.

To hell with this dude, bro. Dude acts like a child, consider yourself lucky.
Don't ask him if he wants a divorce.
File for it yourself.

No, I don’t think he’s single at all I’m saying that he’s had his freedom and is no longer divorced
